How Gold Spot Value Is Calculated
Gold valuation is determined by normalizing the input weight into grams, multiplying by the pure spot price per gram, and applying the fineness coefficient:
Weight in Grams × (Price Per Troy Ounce / 31.1034768) × Purity Factor × Exchange Rate
Retail Note: This calculation produces an unallocated spot bullion benchmark. Retail jewelry stores add manufacturing craftsmanship fees (making charges), dealer markups, and applicable government taxes (GST/VAT).
